We are interested in how we learn from feedback and how we make decisions. This research aims to provide insights into how learning and decision-making work in the general population to help us understand the relation to a number of different mental health conditions.
You must be between the age of 18 and 40 to participate in this study.
If you agree to take part in this study, you will first be asked to play a game that involves
viewing visual stimuli and making choices between such stimuli. You will receive feedback on your choice as gains, no gains or losses.
Your goal is to maximize your overall monetary gain. Before you start you will receive complete instructions for the game.
Afterwards, we will ask you to complete some logical reasoning questions and questions about yourself, your feelings, attitudes and behaviour in your everyday life.
During the game short breaks will be offered to you to allow you to stay focussed. Always try to focus as much as possible.
An additional small break will be offered to you before starting the questionnaire section.
Completing this study takes people on average [90*] minutes including average breaks. You will receive a base payment of [7.50 £ / 9.75 $*] for study participation.
As additional incentive to try your best, you will earn a small bonus payment but this amount is based on how well you perform in the game.
To receive payment for participation, you will need to complete the whole study, i.e. the task and the questionnaires, and not just individual parts.
Please only start the experiment if you have at least [90*] minutes to complete it!
